The fiber expands the sources of raw materials; it contains 34%-36%
post-consumer recycled raw materials; it can reduce carbon emissions
by 60% when compared to traditional elastane; and it can be dyed at
low temperatures, which significantly lowers energy consumption and
environmental burden.
Preparative technique
Using waste polyester bottles as raw materials, polyester glycol is obtained through chemical alcoholysis. This polyester glycol is then used as the main raw material to undergo pre-polymerization and chain extension reactions to produce polyester-based polyurethane and
polyurethane-urea polymer compounds. Subsequently, the fiber is manufactured through a dry spinning.
Q: What are the performance highlights and competitive advantages of
rPET-based chemically regenerated elastane?
A: This fiber is a recycled spandex product with part of its raw materials sourced from post-consumer waste PET, addressing the issues such as the instability and limited production of raw materials for pre-consumer recycled spandex.Meanwhile, compared to conventional elastane, this product has the advantage of easy dyeing with disperse dyes at low temperature(100~110℃).The production of 1 ton of rPET-based chemically regenerated elastane can consume 36000 waste PET bottles, and the production process has an significant carbon emission reduction effect, reducing carbon emissions by 60% compared to that of l ton of ordinary elastane.
